Fidelity Worldwide Investment Names UK Retail Chief

Fidelity Worldwide Investment has appointed John Clougherty
as head of UK
retail, a role that involves dealing with intermediaries including wealth
managers. Clougherty previously worked at Aviva Investors UK Funds,
where he was chief executive. He has additionally held senior management and
sales positions at Fleming Asset Management, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers
and Skandia Investment Management. His latest appointment represents a return
to Fidelity where he started his career in financial services with Fidelity’s
graduate scheme in 1992. Ben Waterhouse, head of UK retail sales, will report to Clougherty
and continues to be responsible for distribution. The firm’s retail business oversees around £32 billion
(around $50.2 billion) of assets. In total, Fidelity Worldwide Investment
oversees and administers £145.3 billion of client money, operating in 12
countries (data as of 31 December).
